I can do things you cannot, you can do things I cannot. Together we can do great things. - Mother Theresa
Our Story
In 1994, Shashi and Renate Desai settled in the remote village of B. Dharmathupatti, near Bodinayakanur in the district of Theni in Tamil Nadu, South India. They very quickly fell in love with the people of the area, but recognized the challenges that many of them faced— particularly those that are often marginalized in rural society.
Committed to make a difference, Shashi and Renate were motivated to provide services that could transform the lives of children, women, and the elderly in the area.
Do what you can, with what you have, where you are. -Theodore Roosevelt
Every contribution helps.
It is not enough to be compassionate – you must act. – The Dalai Lama

Children are our greatest treasure. They are our future. - Nelson Mandela
Children's rights in the area are being highly challenged due to early marriage, child labor, child abuse, child trafficking, violence, highly dysfunctional family dynamics, and poor sanitary conditions. To combat this, our projects specifically focus on:
• Right to survival
• Right to development
• Right to protection
• Right to participation
Education is the key to any development. We therefore support children of poor families with monthly scholarships and direct payments for school books, notebooks, and uniforms.
